Goodbye Hurricane, Hello Sunshine!

feature photo

Back in our hometown, hurricanes were considered to be regular visitors. In fact, most of the houses in our neighborhood were built to endure the fury of a raging tempest. We also had an organized monitoring and warning system that alerts the residents of an incoming storm.

Yet in spite of the constant vigilance, the loss of lives and homes continue to be the disheartening outcome of every hurricane season. This sad fact triggered my parents’ decision to move out of our beloved hometown. My family and I are now settled in California. Although the weather conditions here are sunnier and hurricane-free, I still miss our previous neighborhood. I wonder what became of our old house. I just hope the storm hasn’t destroyed it yet.

  1. You got it right. Happy to hear that you’ve settled already in California.

  2. So sad trying to defy this unstoppable force of nature. It claims its victory over our properties and lives and in the end we leave our roots just to stay away from it forever. Wise move you did there.

  3. The things we do for our lives. I’m sure the move was hard on all of you.

  4. Knowing how violent the hurricane is and a regular visitor in your place, people should prepare extra precautionary measures.

  5. They could organized a disaster committee to enable them to coordinate and inform the resident.

  6. This devastating violent earth is really unstoppable and destroyer. But I think the damage can be protected and minimized.

  7. Hope that you’re more safe this time.

  8. Hope that your old house will still there when you come back.
